This is quite a milestone for me, so no way I'm not going to blog. Today, me and my sister (I don't talk about her much but her insight on Japanese culture is useful) were making dinner and had forgotten about the rice in the rice cooker she got for her birthday. We both ran down but it looked fine. We started on our first hand-made Onigiri!
For those who don't know, Onigiri is a Japanese rice ball.
Anyway, right off we had a problem. I had washed my hands just before so not much of a problem for me, but my sis had. The rice kept sticking to our hands. I figured since I washed my hands, it didn't stick as much, so we tried my theory. It worked! (For me) So we made about seven. My last one was the best!! I'll take a picture and put it up when I get the chance.
Normally Onigiri has a bit of seaweed on them, but I had a bad experience with my first seaweed, so there was none in the house.
So to my first Onigiri and a good day in my Renaissance tunic (It was too hot so I wore my tunic and my hair up in a leather barrette I got) and listening to my favourite music! *Kampai!*
Ciao!
